We are volunteers who work to facilitate the efforts of our neighbors to improve our safety and quality of life here in North Ridgely’s Delight. We understand our roles as relational, neighborly, and democratic. Working together with one another and fellow neighbors to address our shared interests, we act as facilitators to collectively celebrate our neighborhood’s rich diversity and to respectfully and critically resolve problems through informal working groups and, when needed, more formal committees initiated by participating individuals or groups of neighbors. Our main purpose is to improve the quality of life for all in the North Ridgely’s Delight neighborhood.

Our commitments include:

• Consult with all participating neighbors in deliberations on issues requiring a community position
  
  
• Ensure fair and inclusive majority-based decision-making alongside transparent and timely communication
  
  
• Hold ourselves answerable to principles of social and racial justice by celebrating and honoring the importance and power of diverse points of view, by identifying and resisting oppression in our words and actions, and by honoring the voices, identities, and leadership of minoritized and underrepresented neighbors.

An important note:

We have no plans to incorporate and become an official neighborhood association (e.g., a non-profit 501(c)(3)). We are a grassroots-driven community organization that seeks to help community participants work on the issues that they deem important. We self-fund projects that the community has identified as being important to pursue, as we aways have, and seek to partner with 501(c)(3) organizations for grant money for larger projects here. We also want to be able to legally facilitate efforts from groups of neighbors to participate in partisan political activity.
